Settled into Austin

Hey, I'm finally settled into Austin, and its great. As soon as I get a firewire hub for my iPod and iSight (weird that the Cocoa spell checker catches iSight, but not iPod), or–better yet–a camera, I'll post a picture of my dorm. I've gotten used to work as well: The code for the next two weeks or so is written already, so I have lots of time to mess around with side projects. Co-workers are lots of fun.

Last weekend Matt came over and we wandered Austin for stuff to do. We checked out Cozymel's, and ate at the mall. I scoped out the opening place for the Apple store that's gonna be opening this weekend. I'll be there bright and early Saturday with my girlfriend and sister to check it out. Matt and I also watched Donnie Darko, a thoroughly enjoyable if some what convoluted movie. I liked it anyways. After he left I watched Lola Run again (w/ subtitles because I can never hear the guys, apparently only German women articulate their syllables). I've also been going to the gym a few times a week (ok, everyday), for the hell of it.

My girlfriend got back from New York yesterday, and came over here for a bit to talk and whatnot. She liked Avenue Q and Wicked a lot, apparently, and I listened to lots of the music (and ripped the Avenue Q stuff-scathing commentary on American stereotypes and society in general; funny). My suite mate also moved in yesterday, but I haven't had much of a chance to talk as I was with Becca.

Rain here has been terrible, but I think i'll be able to make it. I'm off to bed now, later.
